Eighteen new townhouses will be built by Trafford Housing Trust (THT) with Laurus Homes in Manchester after planning and design consultancy, Barton Willmore, secured planning permission from the City Council.
The development in Whalley Range on under-used land owned and occupied by St Bede’s College will be made up of 18 four-bedroom three-storey townhouses that have been designed to be sympathetic to the character of the local Conversation Area.
By developing on the land with THT and gaining planning permission for the new homes, it will allow St Bede’s College to invest the funds back into the leading education institution.
Steven Grimster, Planning Director at Barton Willmore, said: “This high-quality scheme will deliver some much-needed new family housing in the Whalley Range Conservation Area. As well as enhancing the Area, there is the added importance of enabling continued investment in St Bedes College to maintain its position as a leading educational institution in the City.”
THT is an independent housing company providing around 9,000 quality affordable homes within the Trafford area of Manchester. They are a “profit-for-purpose” organisation, striving for a society transformed, free from poverty, inequality and injustice. They are regulated by the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA).
