The London Planning team and Architecture team have gained approval for the demolition of an existing building and redevelopment to include a hotel on behalf of Movesell Ltd.
Within the building, there will also be co-working and cafe floorspace at ground and lower ground floor level, along with up to 122 bedrooms across 3-6 storeys.
Designers ensured the new design is contemporary but elegant building with an active frontage along the full width of the High Street along with a stone frame to highlight the base of the building around recessed openings. The importance of the corner building is highlighted by having Juliet balconies contained within projected stone frame along Sandringham Road.
A Hotel Market Report was also prepared for the scheme. It demonstrated a number of key facts, including the number of jobs created directly at the hotel and how over the course of a single year there will be approximately 38,900 occupied room nights at the hotel. Therefore, providing a large supply of new potential business and visitor tourism customers to the borough. These customers will utilise local facilities and, on average, will spend money in the local and London wide economy per annum.
