OUR VISION
Our Club should be treated as a prized community asset because its sole purpose is for the enjoyment and involvement of the people of Woodstock who make up the players, its staff and its supporters. We take seriously the need to return to the Hellenic League Premier Division, to play those first team matches in Woodstock and, ultimately, to see the first team promoted to the Southern League with greater community involvement in the club including links to local schools.
To identify the means to achieve some of these aims, we have drawn up a Football Development Plan (2010-2015). However, our work will have to go much further now that we’ve been forced down a division. Above all, we need new facilities to sustain our current and long term aspirations. We need a new clubhouse to replace the existing 70 year old ram shackled building at New Road and one pitch that is floodlit. These are the bare minima.
If we are going to be able to encourage greater participation in the club and get more people involved, particularly the young – which would promote fitness, general wellbeing and self-discipline, anti drugs and smoking – then we will need to give serious consideration to finding a new home in the town which has the potential for expansion and a larger number of pitches (including all-weather). At present the club mainly uses the recreation ground at New Road and only on occasion on land to the north of Marlborough School.
