Louisburg, an ex-military barracks acts as a positive gateway to new development Whitehill and Bordon, an ex-military site. In 2009, the site was allocated as one of the then Government’s ten new allocated Eco-Towns and in recent times has been designated a healthy new town, with the aim to create a distinctive, high quality and sustainable development.
Our architecture team have created a design that is rooted in the military garrison heritage with the layout utilising a gridded street pattern which prioritises pedestrians and cyclists. Building for Life criteria has driven all the design responses, while public realm focuses on fostering social interaction and a sense of community.
